About Me
From the Beginning...
I began my career as a loan originator in 1990 at a community bank in Southern California, following several successful years in the title industry. During my time at the bank, I had the opportunity to help many clients—whether it was financing their first home, upgrading to a new one, or refinancing their current mortgage. As much as I enjoyed the work, I felt something was missing. I wanted to do more for my clients, but the bank’s limited programs and strict guidelines often held me back.
After stepping away and taking some time to reflect, I realized that becoming a mortgage broker was the path forward. It allowed me to offer a wider range of loan options, bring greater value to my clients, and do it all more efficiently. The difference was clear: rather than being tied to a single bank’s products and rates, I could now shop multiple lenders to find the best fit for each client’s unique needs. And the best part? In most cases, I could offer even better rates too.
My Home at C2
I chose to align myself with C2 Financial, a top mortgage broker, because of their strong reputation in the lending community—especially when it comes to Reverse Mortgages, a loan program I hold near and dear to my heart. C2 has been recognized by AIME (Association of Independent Mortgage Experts) as the #1 mortgage broker in the country. Their dedication and commitment to reverse mortgage customers includes strong relationships with all of the top reverse mortgage companies nationwide. More often than not, C2 is the top reverse mortgage loan production firm for these companies.
While I primarily work in the Tucson area, I have the ability to originate loans throughout Arizona and California, where I still maintain many friends, past clients, and connections. And if a client needs assistance in another state, I am fortunate to have trusted colleagues who provide reverse mortgage services across most of the country.
The Reverse Mortgage program is one I am truly passionate about, and I share that passion and commitment within the reverse mortgage community to serve the needs of the 55+ demographic. The Baby Boomer generation—over 10,000 Americans turning 62 every day through 2028—is a vital segment of this industry. In fact, Baby Boomers now represent the #1 home buying group in the country. The Reverse Mortgage for Purchase program, introduced in 2017, was created to meet the needs of this group. This program is just one of many improvements that have enhanced the reverse mortgage offering, allowing older homeowners and homebuyers to enjoy a more comfortable retirement and future. It truly represents the new era of reverse mortgages.
I take the responsibility of serving my clients very seriously. I am committed to providing excellent communication, shared knowledge, timely closings, and a level of service marked by honesty and integrity—qualities my clients deserve.
I am proud of my 30+ years as a mortgage lending professional and equally proud to represent a company that shares my goals and ideals. I look forward to making a positive difference in your life, as well as in the lives of my clients and the communities I serve.
Why Reverse Mortgage?
Reverse mortgage lending is a specialized area that requires experience, knowledge, education, and a deep commitment to the senior community it serves—homeowners or homebuyers over the age of 62. (It’s important to note that while most reverse mortgage clients must be 62 or older, proprietary programs I offer lower the minimum qualifying age to 55 in many states, including Arizona and California.)
So why did I decide to become a Reverse Mortgage specialist? As a relatively new member of this community myself, I have taken a strong interest in reverse mortgage programs. I’m genuinely excited by the advantages, options, and—most importantly—the benefits this program offers. It’s truly a life-enhancing, sometimes life-changing option, and one I’m proud to specialize in.
I’ve learned that this cannot be just another loan program on a lender’s menu. To properly serve those who want or need this program requires a significant commitment of time and dedication to fully learn and understand it. This is not a program to dabble in lightly.
Through reverse mortgages, I’ve helped people enhance their lifestyles—whether that means moving to a more comfortable home, gaining the financial freedom to travel, helping their children buy homes now instead of waiting for an inheritance, obtaining in-home medical care without moving, or simply staying in their homes when they thought their only option was to sell. I have witnessed firsthand the gratitude and relief from clients and their families. There is nothing more rewarding than improving someone’s quality of life and easing the minds of seniors and their loved ones. This is why I’m so passionate about reverse mortgages.
About Me
After spending nearly all my life in Southern California, I moved to Oro Valley, Tucson, Arizona, in 2022 with my wife Debbie, who I love dearly, and our dog Phoebe. This move was years in the making—Debbie lived here previously, and it’s where I asked her to marry me. While I continue to do business in California through past clients and referrals, Arizona is my home now—my new frontier—and I love it here!
I am a proud father of three and grandfather to five wonderful grandchildren. I am also a proud U.S. Navy veteran and deeply enjoy serving military personnel—both current and former—whether through VA loans or reverse mortgages. I believe we can never do enough for our veterans, active-duty military, and their families.
When I’m not helping clients with mortgage financing, I enjoy watching sports, attending concerts and live shows, traveling (is there any vacation better than a cruise?), and of course—eating! The Catalina mountain region offers some incredible food, and I’m always eager to explore it.
I look forward to answering any questions you have about the reverse mortgage program and process. I hope for the chance to work with you or a family member, making your loan experience as stress-free and successful as it should be.
